Hi,

I'm totally new to DotNetNuke so apologies in advance for what will probably seem a rather silly question.  I'm looking to use the Community Edition 5.0.1 to hopefully build an intranet site.  The site will sit on an internal web server (Windows 2003) running the latest version of IIS.  This internal web server and the clients that will connect to it have no external internet access.

I've just been reading the Guided Tour page on this site (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/guidedtour/) and under the heading "How to build a website with DotNetNuke" the following three steps are listed:

1) Sign up with a Web Hoster who provides DotNetNuke® hosting accounts. This Web Hoster will set up a blank DotNetNuke® website for you.

2) Log in to your DotNetNuke® site using the information provided by your Web Hoster

3) Start building your website by adding pages and modules!

Is there a way round this as the internal web server which would be used to host the intranet does not have external access/internet access and neither will the clients connecting to it, therefore I can't sign up with a Web Hoster?  Or do I have to sign up with a Web Hoster on a development server that does have internet access, build the intranet on there and then port the files across to the internal web server then?

Many thanks.

Chris

you can  install DotNetnuke without limitations on a local intranet server, AFAIR www.mitchelsellers.com has some installation instructions.
