Trying to move DotNetNuke 3.x to server2 (Windows 2003/IIS 6.0) and keep SQL 2000 installed on server1 (Windows 2000/IIS 5.0).

was - connectionString = "server=localhost;database=dotnetnuke;trusted_connection=true;"
now - connectionString ="server=server1;database=dotnetnuke;trusted_connection=true;"

Trying to add permissions to my DotNetNuke database but my SQL 2000 server doesn't recognize server1\ASPNET or server1\NETWORK SERVICE.

Error:
The Application could not Connect to the Database using the Login details specified in the Web.Config file.

i presume your iis and sql servers are on different machines - if so then your webserver cannot see the aspnet/networkservice accounts as they are local accounts. You would need to either create a domain account, and assign it to the IIS instance(see http://weblogs.asp.net/AChang/archive/2004/04/15/113866.aspx for a good guide), or else use sql authentication.
