Hi all -

Apologize if this sounds silly.

I downloaded 'DotNetNuke_Community_05.01.00_Source', opened the VS2008 version in Visual Studio and ran the application.  Using the 'admin' userid (default one created during initial setup), I created a New Page but I am not seeing the  'Announcement' module using the 'Add New Module' feature on the top pane.  I do see other modules like 'Account Login', 'Banners' etc.  (and a bunch of other modules).

I was in the belief that 'Announcements' and 'Discussion Board' modules are part of the 'Community Version' .  Could you please help me out here as to why I am not seeing the 'Announcements' module in the dropdown?

Could you also suggest any user-friendly links (like Tutorials) on using the functionalities of DotNetNuke as a developer?  More or less like a walk-through.

Appreciate any help!

Hi Guys -

Sorry for being ignorant.  I was looking at why the 'Announcements' module did not show-up. On further research, found out that the 'Development' tab had the downloads where most of the modules are available. I was able to install it and now the 'Announcements' module is showing up.

I guess, it takes time to get a hang of DotNetNuke, but it is excellent once you know where to find the stuff.

regards

Just for future reference: I am sure, you are taking about "Install available extensions" in Host :: Extensions menu item. :)
