Can I upgrade from 2.1.2 to 5.x or should I just start over from scratch?

you may upgrade, but it will require multiple steps (3.1.1., 4.0.2, 4.3.7, 4.4.1, 4.6.2, 4.9.4).

You may use this check list, and make sure to use proper ASP.Net version for each DNN version (1.1 for DNN2/3, 2.0 for DNN4, 3.5 SP1 being installed for DNN5).

Could this very useful vital post be extended to include the latest versions please.

I need to move a few sites from 4.94 4.95 which I understand are essentially the same to 5.02.
Should I do this via a 5.1 upgrade or can I miss this version out?

(I am aware of the caching issues in 5.2)

BTW: Would it not be a good idea to include this information somewhere in the install instructions?

Thanks

Ian

If you are upgrading from DNN 4.9.x, you should go directly to 5.2.0 (don't forget to backup files and database first).

There is a new group in core team now, taking care of documentation. We are looking forward to get to know their first results.
