I have set up a clean virtual machine running Windows XP SP3, .NET Framework 2, SQL Server 2005 Express (plus Office 2007 and Trend Micro).

I get an installation error "Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE ERROR: See C:\DotNetNuke\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\05.00.00.log for more information"

This happens for both standard and customised installations.

The only non-blank log file I can find is DotNetNuke.Schema.log which includes a message

"System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: 'GetListParentKey' is not a recognized built-in function name. ....."

Any ideas?

Tried installing using Auto and got the following message

The schema.log file starts:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: There is already an object named 'Lists' in the database.
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj)
   at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async)

   at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL)

The data.log file starts with:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_DesktopModules'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.DesktopModules'.

To double check, I tried to delete all the files and unzip them again.  I rebooted to gain access to delete some files, and this time the Auto install worked.
