I am running a dnn 4.9 site and have installed plenty of new modules from a variety of sources. Now, any new module that I try to install (yes from the original Install zip file), the Module Definition Validator states that "Invalid File Extension For Custom Module Definition..." The one I am currently trying to install is the  NB_Store_01.01.06. This is extremely frustrating. Why would the Validator simply decide one day that it is not going to recognize new modules?

Hey eli173,

I believe this is the chunk of code you're running in to from Admin\Packages\Install.ascx.vb

                    If strExtension.ToLower <> ".zip" Then

                        strMessage += String.format(Localization.GetString("InvalidExt", LocalResourceFile), strFileName)

                    End If

So this may be an obvious/silly question - but are you sure the file extension is .zip?

Take care,

Ian
