I've deteled three times but still with same error. I'm using SQL Server 2000, and the log also has only two bytes.The database is created but when upgrading to 5.01.00 it fails.

Any idea?

i've got the same problem. the install shows the upgrade to 05.01.01 success, but the upgrage to 05.01.02 Failure.  the 05.01.02 log is empty, I've deleted twice, I have both sql 2000 and sql express 2008, I point this install to the sql express instance.  anybody????

There are issues with upgrading from version 4.9x to v5.0 or later if you are using SQL Server 2000.

I have tried many times and never succeeded. Apparently the SQLDataProvided is coded using code incompatible with SQL Server 2000. Surprisingly it is still listed as an acceptable option on the instal page. Go figure.

 I am having the same problem. I have reinstalled 5 times with no luck. The only clue I can offer at this point is that I have only experienced this failure when impersonating a user on 03 host pointed at SS2008. impersonation in Server 2003 is rather shaky.
