Well this is probably the most frustrating experience of my life. Lost a day yesterday trying to upgrade a DNN 4 install to 5.1.1. Gave up in the end and tried to do a clean install. So I have a clean SQL2005 DB and a clean site. I copy the the files to the site and adjust the web.config. I start the wizard but can';t get past the 'Install Database Scripts'.

Just get 'Failure installing Database Scripts' and 'undefined...FAILURE null - null'

These are the least useful messages possible.

About to give up with DNN after being a long time supporter.

you shouldn't touch web.config manually, install wizard will do it for you. Which changes did you make?
