Hi,

I have successfully installed DotnetNuke 5.01 using SQL Server Express 2008 and was able to access the admin portal, etc. with no problem.

I then added 'TOSHIBA2\ASPNET' as a user login to SQL Server in order to be able to access a second database via the portal, and now all I get is the DNN installation wizard page with an error message saying "The Auto option has been disabled as the DotNetNuke Application cannot connect to a valid SQL Server database. You can continue to use either of the other two Wizard options and configure the Database settings at the appropriate Wizard step." which seems to indicate that it can't find or connect to the DNN .mdf file.  I haven't changed the SiteSqlServer connection string, or anything else in the config.  Can anyone please tell me how to rectify this situation, or where I can look to get more diagnostic info?

Thanks.

I don't know what the problem was, but I got around it by doing a complete re-install of DNN.

if you encounter an issue during install, it is always advisable to restart from scratch, assuring ann prerequisites are fulfilled, especially file system permissions for the ASP.Net account.
