HI!

I upgraded my DNN 5.1.1 to DNN 5.1.2 this afternoon and everything went smoothly.

However, I see the following message under host settings:

Note: You are running on an old version of the .NET Framework. Future upgrades of the DotNetNuke platform will require .NET 3.5 SP1 or later. If you believe you are running .NET 3.5 SP1 already, please check your web.config file and ensure that the 3.5 or above versions of both System.Core and System.Data.Linq are referenced in the assemblies node.

I am running 3.5 asp.net (all updates including), my web.config has

Is it a bug or is something wrong with my server/installation? Thank you! Yulia

Version=3.5.0.0 for System.Data.Linq and System.Core

There are some entries missing in your web.config. You could compare the web.config with release.config to see what needs to be brought over.

One more thing - you might also have references in the web.config that weren't removed properly. Again, just do the comparison with release.config.

BACK UP your web.config so you have a fallback in case of problems. And please keep in mind I'm only speaking of the asp.net entries within either of the config files. You might have modules installed that have added entries unique to your web.config, and you of course don't want to mess with your database connection info or machinekey values.

Eric,

I upgraded my second server and saw the save warning under the host settings. I compared release.config and web.config file side by side and nothing was really missing. I then refreshed both sites and the warning was gone just like that.

I upgraded a third box this morning, no warning. Can there be some sort of a fix that DNN pushed yesterday? It's really strange since I did not try to fix it, the waring just went away.

Thank you!

Yulia
