I am currently in the process of moving my site to a different host.  I copied all the files over, and then did a restore on the database, and it is giving me an object reference not set to instanc eof object.  Does anybody have any ideas why it would be doing this?  http://mountolivechurch-net.web24.winsvr.net/Default.aspx

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

if you are using a different domain name, make sure, it has been added as portal alias in DB table PortalAlias.

besides, make sure to use similar IIS web site settings.

I have added the domain name to the aliases.

What IIS settings could cause such an issue?  I'm moving from shared host to shared host so I don't really have that much control over it but I could have them check.

Also, are there any logs I could look at in the DB or anywhere to get a better idea what is causing the error.  This is an extremley vague error.

Have you modified both connection strings in the old web.config to point to the new database server and if necessary modified the database userid and password?

If you are able to connect to the database outside of DNN, look in the LogProperties column of the EventLog table for any exceptions that are being logged when an attempt is made to access the site.
