Hi:

I'm new at this DNN stuff. I followed all the steps and get the below Configuration Error. I have all the Ver 5's and still on 5.1.2 install and source files. I'm installing to desktop winxp sp3 and SQL 2000 on office SQL server. I have the VS2008 and get compile errors too, so I can't build the web project.

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

I have ASP.NET AJAX installed on my machine. Infact I have Dot Net 3.5 framework installed on my machine and System.Web.Extension assembly has version 3.5. I have also installed Dynamic Data Framework on my machine. Could it be a versioning issue?

Why was this not mentioned in the install instructions?? Why would I install AJAX 1.0 when AJAX is included in VS 2008 and the .NET Framework 3.5? This would have to be true for a Production Website too.. it's not good enough to have .NET Framework 3.5 installed... you have to install some old outdated (and replaced/upgraded) software too?

.... geee.....

The DNN 5.1.2 should be made to use the new 3.5 version and not the outdated DLL. A clean install on a newly installed/configured computer should work without any issues.

I'll give a try again... when I have time... if I have time. I'm inclined not to use this product in production (unknown and undocumented dependencies)... :(
