Hi,

We are using a old version (4.4.1) of  DNN. Planing to upgrade to DNN 5.1.2.

Whart do you recommend:

1. Do a direct DotNetNuke 5.1.2 Upgrade:

2. Or install a new installation of DNN 5.1.2 and move our own developed modules? (will take us a lot of time)

are there any known issues/problems/incompatibility by doing this upgrade?

Please help me as soon as possible

Regards,

Thaya Nagalingam

I strongly suggest upgrading in multiple steps via DNN 4.6.2 and 4.9.5, you may follow my checklist here.

Don't forget to start with a full backup prior to your actions, and I also suggest to backup working 4.9.5 stage, just in case, not all modules might work properly in DNN 5 and there are still a few upgrade challenges.

PS: latest version of DNN is 5.1.4 atm.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for a quick answer.

You are saying that, "you many follow my checklist here", which checklist did you mean?

You are saying that I have to upgrade step by step which mean:

1. DNN 4.6.2

2. DNN 4.9.5

3. DNN 5.1.4

latest version DNN 5.1.4, is it stable version?

Regards,

Thaya

sorry, I missed to enter the link to my check list, here it is.

yes, you should perform upgrade in multiple steps, first one requires manual adoption of web.config, subsequent steps will perform it automatically.

DNN 5.1.4 has been declared to be stable by DotNetNuke Corp.
