same report Robert.

I tried all that you had suggested but it still did not work. I double and triple checked the web config but it all seems to be fine.

Have you reviewed all the info in the article I posted?  I am out of good ideas at this point.  I found the article via a Google server, so if that article does not do it, maybe some more Google searching will find you the fix.  I used the search term "Named Pipes Provider, error: 40" for my search.

Thanks a lot Robert

I am not sure what is wrong, but when I remove the DataBase and try to log in I get an appropriate DNN error message.

If I put a blank DataBase with the same user as dbowner, then also I get an appropriate DNN error message saying a stored procedure could not be found.

But when I restore form the database backup and try it I again start getting the vague Named Pipes error.
