I upgraded from 4.4.1 to 4.6.2, then 5.1.4. All seemed to go fairly well, a few littles niggles due to me modifying some of the original source but nothing major.

Until I go to Host > Module Definitions to set some modules to 'Allow Partial Rendering'. There are loads of modules missing from the list! What's strange is that they appear in the Control Panel in the list of modules available to add to a page, they appear already installed on plenty of pages, all that is still working fine - they just don't show in Host > Module Definitions.

They all appear in the ModuleDefinitions and ModuleControls tables and I can't spot anything obviously wrong.

If anyone has any idea what could be going on some help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Ade.

A little update, I've just spotted the Packages table, I'm assuming this is new since 4.4.1 and seems to be the source of my issue - there are no entires in the Packages table for the missing modules.

please validate, they are listed in DesktopModules table as well

you may also check Module List in Host :: Extensions menu item

It seems that my response is late, but I've just get into this issue a few days ago. The problem is when upgrading DNN, no Package get created for your custom modules. Just check the DesktopModules table, find the row related to your "disappeared" module, you will see that PackageId = -1. Create a new row in Packages table for your custom module, and update DesktopModules::PackageId with the ID of the new package you created. Now your custom module will appear again in Module Definitions page.

I just wonder is this a bug of DNN's upgrade script or there maybe some instructions with module creation that we did not follow.

Hope my information will help.
