Just a quick question. I am using the source code build 5.1.2 and wish to upgrade to 5.1.4. I backed up my code and db and copied the 5.1.4 over the existing 5.1.2 source. Compiled fine. But when I hit the site to run the update, nothing happened. It just sat there then timed out. So my question is, what is the best way to upgrade your source code and have a successful update to it? When i copied the upgrade pacakage files over, it did update, however where I use the source package, I will lose any changes that were made if I recompile. Please let me know if you need any further information.

you should use source package for upgrade, but take care not to overwrite database.mdf in /app_data folder.

do not touch web.config file!

besides, if you turned off autoupgrade, you need to trigger upgrade manually by calling /install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade.
