Hi!

After spending way to much time on trying to upgrade my DNN-installation, so that I can get rid of those pesky red "Critical Updates Available"-boxes. I see no other way out than to ask if anyone else has had the same problem.

I am trying to do it in as small steps as possible. And I am now down to trying to upgrade from 04.09.04 to 05.00.01. (Of course I'll spend as little time as possible with the 05.00.01 version, but trying to upgrade to a higher version hasn't worked either.)

The upgrade seems to go well. All messages says Success anyway. But when I check out my portal, all the modules have lost their contents. I get one little meesley warning in the EventLog. Something about KeyNotFoundException. Don't even know if it is related.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or recognize the symptoms?

if you want to upgrade to DNN 5, please use latest version (5.1.4 atm).

Just to get rid of the critical upgraddes message, you may simply upgrade to 4.9.5

When I´ve tried more resent versions. (5.1.2) I've gotten Error-messages on the Executing Applications Uppgrades 05.00.00. Why is it better to try and upgrade over a greater leap of versions?

So, 4.9.5 is not a critical version then?

4.9.5 is called to be safe atm.

usually smaller steps are preferable, but there are still known upgrade issues for DNN5, hopefully they will all be sorted out in DNN 5.2

But not if you are using SQL2000
