Since I have upgraded from DNN 4.8.4 to DNN 5.1.4 I have noticed a few strange things.

1. My Control Panel shows whether you are authorized to see it or not. I have checked the security and visibility settings. They are set correctly but it still displays.

2. Under Site Setting my Default Language is Blank... This causes a problem if I try to save the site settings. I get an error. Default Language cannot be null.

Does anybody have an y suggestions?

Thanks

regarding #1: make sure, none of the modules on your page does grant edit permission to unauthorized or all users.

None of the modules grant edit permission. The strange part is most of the control does not deisplay... Only the CONTENT and PREVIEW checkboxes display.

I have been able to work around this by selecting the ICONBAR view rather than the Classic view for the control panel. Still don't know what the cause is for the classic view. The same problem happened on a fresh install without any modules installed.
