In a new/clean install  of DNN 5.1.4, where IIS and SQL servers are located on different boxes, while executing Installation Wizard I got the following error:

Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE 400 - The stored procedure 'DNNuser.UpdateDatabaseVersionAndName' doesn't exist.

Till this point the installation when without a glitch.

Any suggestion about the cause and  possible solution?

Chris

most likely there are issues accessing the database.

make sure the sql server is configured for remote connections and the database user has owner permission for the database.

to continue, drop the database and recreate a blank new one with same name (and permissions granted).

Chris,

do NOT try to install all modules at once, only those which are needed. you can easily install additional modules later.

Skip the large modules during install, like Forums, Repository, Blog, Events.
