We have an existing .NET web application that needs a more robust content management backend. I'm looking to use DotNetNuke to cover this need, but I don't quite understand how or if it can be used in the manner that we need.

How would I go about integrating managed content controls into certain pages of an existing web application? Everything I'm seeing is assuming it will be used to build the entire site.

DNN is best used as the framework for your development.  It's not a true CMS and not designed to be added to other applications.  There are better products for that purpose.
