I have used DNN since 3.x. I have upgraded the software many times and haven't had a glitch.

Now that I'm trying to upgrade to 5.1.4 (or 5.1.3, it looks like that one might be better) but I keep getting errors.

I upgraded to 4.9.2 and then to 4.9.5. For each I had to run the SQL upgrade code myself.

But I did get 4.9.5 to work.

Then I made new backups and attempted 5.1.4 and everything blew up. It kept saying that a "Definition" couldn't be found in a vb file. I had no idea what this meant.

Is this what DNN upgrading is going to be from now on? This is the first time I've had such trouble.

I've read here that a lot of people suggest a clean install. But if I do that, won't I lose all of my data? Is there a way to migrate data into a fresh install?
