I have tried many times to reinstall DotNetNuke from Godaddy on my hosting server.  I have been getting various errors.  In the upper right hand side on the settings and everything else up there comes up an error.  No description of the error.  So no matter what I try to do, comes out an error.  I tried installing it in the root directory and then I tried installing it in an ADMIN folder and get more errors (like unable to register/login....etc...)  I feel that from them it is not good.  Any suggestions?

Not sure if I want it in a subfolder vs the root.  because I just want it pointed directly to the main site and not have the folder name on top the url.

GoDaddy does not support installation min the root folder.  You can make it work, but you can't use their installation and there are issues.  Best advice is delete everything and start over.  Second best advice is to ask GoDaddy for help.

See the blog post here for one easy approach for GoDaddy hosting where you don't have to install to the root in order to avoid having the installation subdirectory show up in your site's URL:

I've done it both ways on GoDaddy quite a few times (install to root and install to subfolder).  The subfolder method outlined in the blog is the approach I've switched to using for GoDaddy.

Hope that helps-

I had some trouble installing DNN on Godaddy as well.  So, I hired someone to install DNN on Godaddy.  It him took a couple tries and some phone calls but he got it working.  I'd recommend hiring someone. The errors were in scattered technologies (asp, sql, DNn and Godaddy) enough that a consultant is helpful.   The folks at Godaddy are helpful, but they don't support DNN
