I'm setting up my first web site for my small business and a friend directed me to Dotnetnuke for the community eddition. My friend told me that all I need to do is to  do is first he will direct the url from the provider (joker) to dotnetnuke and then I go online and build my site. From what I've been reading here it sounds like I need to download and install the community version. Which is right or are they both right to some degree? What is the best source for learning the basic things that I need to know to get me on my way? I'm willing to learn!

either download install package of DNN or use DNN platform installer from www.microsoft.com/web, if you are running on your own server, otherwise your hoster might provide it in his application library.

To get acquainted with DNN, you may create a temporary demo site at demo,.dotnetnuke.com, besides there are a number of books available.
