Using 5.02.00 (275) on Windows Server 2008 R2.  IIS is set to Anonymous access.

Getting this error at the SMTP screen:

Host User Error: Length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: length

There is a message on this exact issue in this forum, but no solution was posted.

Any ideas on how to get past this?

Thanks in advance,

Charles

use installation wizard ("custom" mode) and follow each step. it will ask for credentials of the Host user.

you may skip smtp server test, if there are problems.

Issue turned out to be Network Services did not have rights to the subdirectories where DNN was installed.  Once I fix that, the install went with out a hitch - but I did have to delete all of the files from the install and reinstall all files to the DNN directory, as well as start from a blank database.

great you figured it out :)

Starting from scratch is always advisable if an installation fails!
