Hello,

I am fresh installing DNN v5.3.0 on a localhost Windows XP SP3 with .NET Framework 3.5 and I get the following error just upon starting:

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'System.Web.Abstractions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' could not be loaded.

I have used the very same *system* config for all DNN v5.x.x and all of them went OK, with no problems at all. Nothing changed, so I am assuming it has to be something related to the Install package released today.

If there is anything I can do to help debugging, you can count on me.

The problem is that you use your old "good" web.config I think in 5.3.0 you have to add

add assembly="System.Web.Abstractions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" />

Look in the new release.config

Its a good habit not to use good old web.config's :)

Cathal, confirmed: the error was caused by the lack of .Net 3.5 SP1. Thank you again :-) 

I will wait though, before moving on, for version 5.3.1 to be released.
