Hi,

I'm new to this community, but I have done some installations of DotNetNuke successfully.
The problem is the last I'm trying to do. During the installation gives me an error which I can not resolve and then I can not do anything else. The error I get is:

I tried to install version 5.2 and 5.3 and error is the same.

The characteristics of the machine where I'm doing the installation are:

  • Windows 2003 r2

  • Sql server 2000 versao 8.0

  • IIs 6

  • Framework 3.5

I think there should be no problem. I can't find any solution and I tried everything,

I hope you can help me.

Regards.

DNN 5.2 and newer require Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008, SQL 2000 is no longer supported.

DNN 5.1* will run on SQL 2000

Hummm... And then is it possible to make a downgrade from version 5.2 to version 5.1? Respects

No, it is not possible to downgrade to 5.1.x.

If this is a new installation, you will need to delete all of the folders/files of the install, delete the database, then proceed with a new installation of 5.1.4. If you were upgrading from 5.1.x, you will need to restore from your folders/files and database backups.

Also, note that DNN 5.2.3 and 5.3.1 will run fine on the free express versions of MS Sql Server 2005 or 2008.

And just to make sure, there is no problem in maintaining the version of Sql Server 2000 installed and install the Sql Server Express 2005? Or is there some kind of problem with doing this?
