 Hello to everyone!

Gear:

Windows 2008 R2 Server Std.
Microsoft SQL 2008 Std.

Everyting on a single *fresh server, and I still can't make it! I've created database "DotNetNuke" (hasn't been modified so far), and new site on IIS7 called "intranet" which points to intranet.pupwrzesnia.local and location F:\DNN. I've also copied everything inside DotNetNuke_Community_05.03.01_Install.zip into F:\DNN and modified web.config:

 <connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 Express -->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=SQL;Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />    -->

  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=SQL;Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;"/>
-->

I know I didn't provide any credencials to SQL server, but is simply because I do not know what to type there:/. My SQL Server has *Windows credencials - that's all I know about SQL.

Please, If there's anyone who can help me, I will be very grateful:)

A couple of things for you.

1.) The connection string that you modified is currently commented out, you will need to resolve that....however, you can use the install wizard so you don't have to do it manually.

2.) if you want to use Windows Authetnication, you will need to add the ASP.NET worker process with permissions to your database, OR you will need to enable Mixed-Mode authetnication on the server and then you can create a user account that has permissions for the dotnetnuke database.

Depending on your solution to number 2 above you will then have the information you need to be able to get up and going.  To make it easier for you, I would navigate to /install/installwizard.aspx to start the wizard installation process as it will prompt you for username/password and other configuration informaiton for the database and the rest of the site.

Thanks for your immediate response! All right, here's what I understand so far. The easiest way would be to point into mysite/install/installwizard.aspx? However, when I do so i get this message: Security Exception - Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. I read about trust levels, so inside web.config I modified the string into something like: . Nothing changes though. It's definetly my fault, I probably make changes in wrong place, any help?

 OK., I’ve managed somehow to make it work. Giving permissions, changing DefaultAppPool IDENTITY to Network Service and making LOAD USER PROFILE – TRUE solved the problem and now I can see the installation wizard. However, I cannot connect to my database:(. I created new database named DotNetNuke, new login and user *dnnuser – everything according with http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNu...

I'm giving' him 100% correct credentials. Any ideas?

 Well, regarding to what Mitchel Sellers says “you need to enable Mixed-Mode authetnication on the SQL server” I changed my authentication mode, and it worked, however only with sa account. Thanks everyone once more for very useful hints and tips!
