Hoping someone can give us some pointers on this - We have a teacher's Gradebook application that is being developed by an outside vendor using DNN 3.2.2. We installed DNN 3.2.2 on one of our servers, and have been adding modules as the vendor is delivering them. We have a mandate to take the entire application to another School district and install it on their servers for stress testing. The deal is that they own the stress testing software, they are thinking of buying this same application and also have an interest in the results of testing. For whatever reason, it isn't possible for the stress testing software to come here - we have to go there. I'm thinking if we copy all the files from the webserver, backup the two databases  (DNN database and vendor's database), that should be all we need to do, besides make some necessary changes in the database (different server name, path to website, etc) once we get the website and databases restored at the other site. Has anyone done this before? Does anyone know of any gotchas we should look out for? We will be traveling from Central Florida to North Florida, so we will need to make sure we have everything before we leave. (Ideally, we can put it on a portable server here, make sure it works, then take the server north and add it their domain - but things aren't ideal)

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

I haven't done anything like this before and usually push off database management to others, but I do know that I've had issues with restoring backups. Certain constraints weren't setup correctly on the restore. I'd give the whole process a try locally before you try it on your trip. See if you have any issues that way before you're gone. Whether you take that server with you or not is another issue. That would prolly save time on your part, but if you can't, then at least you were able to test the process.

Honestly, I'd almost suggest you setup a clean install of DNN and the vendor software. The only problem with this is the data you already have won't be in the new system. This may or may not be a problem, depending on what exactly you'll be testing.
