Hello all,

I managed to get my site up and running in Windows 7 with IIS 7.5 on localhost, i.e. http://localhost/dnn.  It works just fine.  I use zoneedit for dynamic dns.  I used to be able to tell IIS which site was the default for the port, I guess, because if I browsed to my domain name, the site came up and worked just fine.  However, now when I type in my domain name, I get the default web site page, i.e. the IIS 7 splash screen.  If I type in mydomain.com/dnn, it redirects to localhost/dnn and the site loads.  I'm sure I used wrong terminology, but I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say.  How can I set it up so that when someone types mydomain.com into a browser it gets to my site?  The site is setup in IIS 7.5 by adding an application under the default web site.  Help.  Thanks in advance.

1. In IIS, you need to bind the domain address as Host Header value for your IIS web site, to tell which web site tu use. In DNN you need to provide domain name as (additional) portal alias, to make sure the proper portal is used (especally in multiportal installations). If you plan to move your site, e.g. from staging to production, you should add the portal alias prior to the move, besides you should always use same server relative path, e.g. localhost/dnn and www.mydomain.com/dnn OR localhost and www.mydomain.com, otherwise minks to local images and files might be broken.

Thanks for the reply.  Can you please tell me exactly how to bind the domain address as Host Header value for the IIS web site?  I already have the portal aliases set up.
