I am new to DNN and had a few questions.....  I have Visual Studio 2008/2010 and i was wondering where i could get the DNN development framework platform so I can start skinning...

You can download the source from codeplex.

But you don't really need Visual Studio to start skinning. Just do some searching for skinning tutorials. There are lots out there. It's all token-based, and very straight forward. Start here.

I'd recommend sticking to pure HTML to do your skinning and let the engine create the actual skin.

The best thing to do is to just open up the default skins and download a few free ones and then look into the code there. You'll learn a ton that way.

It really is very easy. The hardest part is the actual HTML/CSS/image design, and not the DNN skinning part.
