I installed a test version of DNN on an XP Pro/ SQL 2008 Express setup and was learning how everything is configured and setup. After understanding the framework I tried to install the same DNN (Version 5.04.02) on my Server 2003 R2 using our SQL Server 2005 64Bit which resides on a 64Bit Windows 2003 Server. I did the setup by creating the blank database and user, setting up the DNN directory and IIS. the problems I am encountering happen during install the installation scripts error out and the errors (nothing in 5.00.00.00.log) but the schema log shows what looks like Case problems creating "UserID".  I did notice the default Collation was not the one I saw posts about (It was a Latin_437.bin something) I changed the DNN Database to the Latin1_General_ CI _AS but I still can't get it to install.. If I use the back button on the install and attempt again I get an never ending Undefined - Success and tables are built in the database but I never get to go forward in the install.

is there any way to install this if I can't change the default collation on the SQL 2005 server with messing with the other databases on this production server.

I am just using DNN for an Intranet to start with because I believe we will be using it in the future for upgrading our website.

I am stuck and need a little guidance.

it is a known limitation, that default collation of the server needs to be set to Latin1_General_CI_AS during install
