Hello, my upgrade just went wrong - luckily I had a backup ;-)

I have one DNN installation with a few top level domains
www.firstdomain.com
www.domain1.com
www.domain2.com
www.domain3.com

After the upgrade all traffic is redirected to www.firstdomain.com. If I click on the home tab the correct domain is loaded but the logo-link is broken
The installation recorded one sql script error - i think it was 5.4.0.

Apart form loading www.firstdomain.com for all portals everything seemed to work.....
Any ideas?

Many Thanks
Oliver

Hello,

I have just done the same but upgrading to DNN 5.5.1 - The issue is the same. Last time, I've used the backup to get a working site again. This does not seem to help in the long run...

As I said before, I have four different domains:
- three work fine
- one does not ;-(

Any ideas where I could ckeck?

I just had a look at the portals table in the database. The home directory column of the portals looks like:

HomeDirectory
Portals/0
MyPortal
Portals/4
Portals/7

Checking the files on the server I can the see:

DNNinstallationDirectory
.admin
.all the other DNN directories
.MyPortal
.Portals
.._default
..0
..4
..7

I think when I created the not working portal I gave it a descriptive name instead using the autogenerated DNN number. This apparently caused the creation of the "MyPortal" directory in the same directory level as "Portals". Any ideas why this would effect the access to the portal after the upgrades?

Hello, I solved the problem.... reason for redirecting one domain to another domain on the portal were entries in the PortalLocalization table.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryId/2581/Fixing-issue-with-Portal-Localization-if-using-a-non-en-us-default-language.aspx

I do not know where these entries came from or who created them.... after deleting it all works fine.
