Trying to upgrade an install from 5.2.1 to 5.4.4 and am getting a "Executing Application Upgrades: 05.03.00 Error!" and then the packages File HTML_Community_05.04.03_Install, File Messaging_01.01.00_Install & File Taxonomy_01.01.00_Install fail on install.  No other errors are reported

Any ideas on what the 'Application Upgrade Error..' is and how to fix it? I cannot find any logging of the error.

Also would the application error cause the install failure of the 3 module packages?  These are all failing with the error "ExceptionSystem.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary.     at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowKeyNotFoundException()     at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.get_Item(TKey key)     at DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController.GetSubscribers(String eventName)     at DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController.SendMessage(EventMessage message, String eventName)     at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.ModuleInstaller.Commit()     at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.PackageInstaller.Commit()     at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.PackageInstaller.Install()     at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installer.InstallPackages()     at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installer.Install()"

TIA
Antony

it's a known issue resolved in 5.5 - the gemini item with associated codeplex patch can be seen at http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=12914&PROJID=2

This is only one possible cause for the issue. Any error happening in the 5.3.0 update script can be the source of this failure, see for example http://support.dotnetnuke.com/D... (also fixed in 5.5.0)

Cathal,
How do you actually apply the patch?

you have to make the changes to the code (if you're running subversion locally it will do the merge for you), recompile and deploy the updated dotnetnuke.dll. However, I'd suggest you check Stefan's suggestion first by ensuring you have default.page.template files in all your folders, just in case this resolves it when you try an upgrade.
