Hi all,

So first time using DNN. I have read tons and viewed even more videos.

that is the tutorial I have been following. I have everything created but the one error i get when trying to install is

Ive read the help tip that displays on the same page and still no working DNN.

One thing I did notice is when i created a new directory the username and password i supplied did not work. I used the test connection and out of the 2 tests, the first is OK but the second is a fail.

I am terribly stuck,

Some advice would be amazing at this point

It sounds like you're looking at one of two things...  Either the web.config is indeed missing, or your permissions are not correctly assigned.

If your web.config is missing, there should be a release.config file in the root of the website that you can copy and rename to get started.  

If your permissions are the issue, be sure to go into the permissions dialog in Windows and give Modify permissions to the account that your application pool is using.  Typically, this is the "Network Service" account, but it may also be the "ASPNet" account if you're using Windows XP.
