hey guys new to this,m I have followed the instructions  to install DNN to a T. I have enabled permissions for all the users i could think of, and still everytime i run localhost/dnn all i am able to do is browse the folder, it is not executing at all. I have setup the database, and am wondering what the issues is and if anybody has had this problem. in my web.config i have entered my windows login which is what i have setup in sqlserver 2000. any advice>?

OK, so for any body as dumb as me i installed the dot net framework1.1 and now im getting this error=

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 03.02.02

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

 

 

ive tried changing my server to the server name, full domain names everything, wondering if anybody can show me a copy of what they have setup so maybe i can work with that. thanks alot guys

Funny you should mention this i'm having the same problem
I don't have problems when installing under win2ksp4 only *$%£ XP
woul love to resolve this one

I had exact the same problem. Solved by change the web.config.

The db servername should be 127.0.0.1 - have tried with local and localhost and machinename. But 127.0.0.1 works.

If the SQL server were on another box on the network, could you use the IP address of THAT box instead of 127.0.0.1?
