Hello.. I'm trying to get an internal copy of our live DNN site up and running.

I added the internal test URL to the Aliases for the external site and copied over the live database to the test database.  IIS on the test server only is configured for the internal URL and NSLOOKUP of the header points to the internal server.

BUT, when I hit the URL for the internal test site, it automatically jumps to the URL of the external site.  NOT GOOD.

I really need to do some testing with a copy of the live site on the development side.  How do I resolve this?  I've never had issues prior and with previous version of DNNCE.

If I try to remove the two live URL's within the PortalAlias table on the development database, the site just sits there and does nothing.  At the bottom of the screen, it keeps flashing website found. waiting for reply.. There appears to be something else flashing there, but it so quick, I'm unable to read what it's saying.

Here's another odd issue.  We're going to upgrade to the Pro edition and I put the pro upgrade internal test URL in the aliases of the live database.  copied to the pro upgrade database so right now, it's just running the CE database, etc.  I can hit the internal test upgrade URL and it resolves fine and doesn't auto-jump to the external site.  So it works for this URL but not the other URL.

make sure to add the new domain address as portal alias - either before moving the site via UI in Host :: Portals or directly in the database, table portalAlias.

 Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for replying to my post.

I re-did the process of adding the internal URL to the external site, backed up and restored to test database and hit the internal URL.  This time, it worked.  Not entirely sure what happened and why it didn't work the first time.

Thank you again.. -Jeff
