Hi,
I can see that you've been getting this error for quite some time:
  • After Creating a new database, I provide a new user with db_owner rights.
  • I create a new folder with full access rights [IIS_IUSRS]. {The folder permissions check passes OK and I cross-checked on specific files in the cleanup folder }.
  • I edit the Web.config to access the Database just created. {also tried the standard route where one puts in the details in the wizard...}
  • I set up the IIS [7.5] to point at the webspace.
  • I have .net 2.0, 3.5, and 4.0 on the server....
  • I run the Install script....
and get
"Upgrading Database to Version 05.04.04...FAILURE 400 - Access to the path 'D:\yyyy\xxxx\Install\Cleanup\03.00.08.txt' is denied."

I have carried this procedure three times now... same results.
I've seen previous responses from the DNN Team and they all suggest permissions errors etc...  Checked all that out.
I've been installing DNN since version 1.0 days. [Though this is the first time since 4.9.5 as, basically, that worked... :) ]

I've checked out the Readme.txt file and there's nothing there That I wasn't familiar with....

O/S Windows 2008 R2
IIS is 7.5
SQL Database is 2008 R2

Permissions are all good, so I suspect the script ??
Any suggestions?

Duncan.

I've Fixed it... and an apology....

I re-read t he Readme.txt in Documentation and realised that familiarity breeds a sort of blindness...
In that document you state that the security should be read, write and change control by the IIS_IUsrs account - I'd got it set to just read/write.
Changed that to full control and all was well.

stupid of me.

I must say it is one good experience to not to skip anything in any readme document :)
