Hi,

I have installed DNN a hundred times - but am having a problem in a new environment. I recently signed up for a dedicated Windows 2008 Server (64 bit) with Plesk 9.5.2.

I used Plesk to create the domain, database and db user and had add IWAM_plesk to the .security file with Modify priviledges.

However I am still getting the following error when I try to run the DNN install from a browser:

Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.  To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

Any help is appreciated - thanks!

i added a wiki document on permissions earlier - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/W... . If you're using windows 2008 R2 then you're likely seeing an issue with app pool isolation, theres a linked blog in that article that mentions the user you'll have to use.

Note: IWAM_* is not used by asp.net, it's for out of process applications such as CGI (in the same way IUSR is for classic asp) - when you get an AspNetHostingPermission it indicates a problem with asp.net permissions - either using the wrong user, or even not having list permission for that user at the drive root (so asp.net can "walk" the folder structure)
