Hi, I have been downloading my live website to local visual web developer 2008 and sql server 2008R. Untill yesterday, I had problems with IIS. I think I solved them now. But I still get a error on " Can't load the type DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.LocaleSelectorControl"
I really need the local setup, as I want to test some modules. Can someone please help. I have checked the internet for solutions, but nothing has come up. Thanks, Greet

Do you have same version of ASP.Net installed on both machines? Did you make sure, all files are copied?

I had this same problem today on development environment, upgrading from a May 2010 community version install, to the 5.5 upgrade package released 9/1/10. I have backtracked through the DotNetNuke.dll core library and it appears the library's DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls namespace had the LocaleSelectorControl class reference in the older version, but the newly compiled dll has left it out - while the ascx file is still part of the /controls directory; this produces compile error. Can we get a recompile of the core library, or should the ascx file be considered deprecated?

with FTP I have downloaded the files and put them under C: inetpub/wwwroot/fashionchannel2. So yes, all the files are there. I have downloaded a lot of asp .net things and hope I'm having the right one.  Before this, I was also running a dnn site with a lower version and everything was working fine.

if there is still a localeselector.ascx file IN /controls folder, delete it.
