Hello all,
After I installed DotNetNuke of my Host server (It took me time to realize that all the errors that I've got came from missing files that failed to upload  to FTP so If you get:an error ocurred message x 2 after you finish installing DotNetNuke and after pressing on "Start build your portal", then check out for missing files) I went to the new DotNetNuke installation and I've got the Directory Listing instead of the UI (the Web Site itself).

Does anyone know anything about that problem?
usually It happens when the default.aspx is not listed in the Document tab in the IIS but I don't have any access to IIS because it's not in my Host Control Panel.

I am working on installing DotNetNuke in on my Host server for 3 DAYS NOW!!
Everytime there's something else:

Permission check error? changed the Trust Level="Medium" to "Full".
An error ocurred message? no logs to work with but found out that NOT all the files were uploaded.

And now, the Directory Listing.
Gees, too much time installing DotNetNuke (on my local Install everything is fine. buying a server for myself can be cheaper).

Anyone knows anything?

Thanks.

In addition to assuring that Default.aspx is listed (preferably at the top of the list) for the IIS Default Documents, I would verify that ASP.Net 3.5 SP 1 or ASP.Net 4.0 is installed and properly configured on the server. Since it appears that your hosting control panel does not allow you to modify the IIS Default Documents, I would submit a trouble ticket or otherwise request support from your hosting provider.

Hi Tal --

I had the same problem -- or rather, almost the same problem.  I also got a Directory Listing instead of the DotNetNuke ("DNN" hereafter) UI, but my Listing included the "Default.aspx" page.  However, clicking on this page didn't open DNN; instead it opened my expired trial version of Expression Blend!

Here's what resolved the problem for me:
1.  I deleted the DNN virtual directory I had created;
2.  Also deleted the entire folder containing the unzipped DNN install files;
3.  Re-created the folder and unzipped the DNN install files to it again;
4.  Entered this path in my Web browser:  http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/DNN_ShowMeThePages/Default.htm;
5.  Clicked on the The ADefWebserver DotNetNuke HELP WebSite link;
6.  Clicked on the Setting-up the Environment (without IIS) link and followed the instructions.  My DNN installation works correctly now.

I hope this helps you.
