Hi
I've read articles and DNN install instructions on how to unset readonly on DNN folders and files after downloading DNN to install.
Using Vista, I still couldn't get them to unset readonly after going thru the steps of unchecking readonly and apply uncheck readonly in subdirs and files of DNN.
I've also checked that the account is administrator with full control.

What am I doing wrong ?
Are there steps to permanently remove this unset readonly on DNN folder ?

if you look at folder level, "readonly" always displays as "not defined", because the explorer does not evaluate state of all files and folders contained. However you may use the checkbox to apply the same state to all elements within. If you still have problems accessing files, most likely there are missing permissions for the ASP.Net account or files are "blocked" for being downloaded from the web (see at the bottom of first tab in file/folder properties); Make sure to unblock zip file before extracting.

Hi Sebsatian

Thanks for responding.
There's no problem with download from DNN.
It's something else with the files permissions that refuses to unset Read-only files in DNN.

Do you have steps in Vista on how to remove that ? I followed some books but it still fails.

please check on individual files, wether they are readonly. Folder level does not provide information on it!!
