I am getting the same results using either the starter kit or install - I am doing a local install.  Can someone please respond to tell me what this error is, how to correct it, and what effect it may or may not have on my ability to use Telrik's Radmenu and other controls. I can't upgrade until I get this resolved.

there seems to be an issue installing Telerik editor provider, are there any details listed in the event log?

Hi Sebastian,

I looked in the Event log and in the SQL script logs (under host settings) and there were NO errors anywhere. I am doing a local install. I am getting the same error with the install package and the starter kit package.  In both cases the only error is in the Installation status report --00:00:30.125 -   Installing Package File Telerik_05.05.00_Install:  Error!  -- all the other statuses in the installation status report are success.

Thank you for responding and I hope you can help me resolve this issue because I cannot find any other error messages to direct me.

Thanks to Eric Swanzey and Rob Ralston, of the Boston DNN user group, my error has been corrected.

As downloaded from the DNN site the web.config file has <bindingRedirect newVersion = 2010.02.0713.35 . When I looked in the bin folder the Telerik dll was 2010.2.713.35  

I removed the leading zeros in the newVersion in the web.config - corrected value 2010.2.713.35 and re-did the install with complete success.

Given that  the web.config is wrong in both the install and starter kid packages I assume others will have this same problem.  I was unable to find any information from this forum so I hope this helps others.

Thanks for posting the fix, Judy. I just had the same problem with getting the Telerik package to install in a 5.5.0 to 5.5.1 upgrade.
