After following the video and installing the latest DNN, and I tried http://localhost/dotnetnucke and I get the following error:

I must say, I was not able to create permission for the DNN folder with Vista & IIS 7. When I tried to use the user IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool
Is this error related to the fact that folder doesn't have modify permission?

Someone help. This installation is PITA.

If you use .NET 4.0 you have to use the .Net 4.0 Application pool, On install the .NET 4.0 creates it own Application pools for integrated and classic mode which also used it own users.

So If you still want to use the default application pool you have to change teh application pool to .NET 4.0 if not allready done, and make sure the .NET 4.0 framework folder permissions have full access for the application pool user.

Matt, the first problem during installation I've had, is that I can not get the permission to the DNN folder, because under Vista32 and IIS, it does not find IIS AppPoll/DefaultAppPool. So this user is not even created to apply permission.

Is there any docs how to resolve this? or FAQ to installation problems?
I've been trying to install DNN all day, and no luck so far.

Is there any docs or solution, why a straight forward of a mature product would fail during installation? I've even used Web Platform installer and went ahead and set the .Net 4. framework folder with proper permission and I still can not get DNN to start on Vista with IIS 7. I hope the rest of the product isn't like this!
