Could anyone please tell me if below connection string code is correct if i'm using "SQL Server 2008 R2" and Windows7 Pro?
I'm getting an error message The Auto option has been disabled as the DotNetNuke Application cannot connect to a valid SQL Server database during the installation. However, if i click next with either Custom or Typical set up,  it won't go any further from the Run Database Installation Script page.

Run Database Installation Scripts

The installation of the database scripts should have started when this page loaded. The Next button will be disabled until the Installation of the Scripts is complete.

Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...

and I get stuck with this page.

Any comment would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

You dont need to modify the web.config as the install wizard does that for you.  Usually when the Auto option is disabled it means the database.mdf file is marked as read only or your SQL Express (not SQL Server) is not running.

Thank you for your comment. I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2 (not express). I heard that database.mdf is used only with SQL Express.

Hi, It was resolved by given full permission to the default application poor in IIS. thanks.

Does the above mean "default application pooL"? And if so, how do I go about doing that, on a shared-server host? I have the EXACT same issue, installing with the MS Web Application Gallery, and it appears to be just stuck on that "installing database scripts" page. I have no idea what to do, can anyone help? Bear in mind, this is Mochahost we're talking about (slow servers, no real support, running WebSitePanel, which means I don't get a lot of control over settings). Thx, Andria
