I'm a newb trying to install my first skin. I've watched a couple of videos and read DDN for dummies and it seems so easy...except for me.

I've got DNN installed and running through a hosting company, but it's not 'live' yet. I'm logged in as host. I've bought the skin. Downloaded it to my local machine. How do I get the .zip file loaded to the server or hosting company?

Or am I supposed to be able to upload the .zip file through the host setting with the file sitting on my local machine?

Thanks for any/all help!

OK, I watched the basic DNN admin video and I believe I am following it step by step.

I am running DNN version 05.02.00 (275)

I bought the skin, downloaded it. It came zipped up so I unzipped it on my local machine. It made a Containers folder and a Skins folder with .zip files inside. I did not unzip those files.

I'm logged in as Host, I go to Extensions, Install Extension Wizard, I browse to the downloaded folder, to the unzipped Skins folder with the .zip files inside. I select the .zip files and select next.

I get this error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>

What am I doing wrong?
