Hi
 I want to use dot net nuke with "mimer sql database".
 For this i need to write providers.
 Can u just guide me where to start. Like which provider should i write first .
I have thought of making Mimerdataprovide like sqlprovider
which will be having mimersqlhelper  like sqlhelper .
but need some guidenes before starting. please help me in same.

it is possible, simply by copying all database provider code and script files, but it will be an excessive amount of work - not sure if it is really worth the effort. you will need to write a provider for any module and some providers as well.

While dnn - in theory still conforms to the SQL provider model to be honest - the tasks involved in getting dnn running with another sql provided are enormous.  

Writing the provider itself is a relatively easy task - and yes you could use the mssql provider as a starting base - but you would also need to recode pretty much every T-SQL script in each installer so they are compliant with you sql server.  And that would include every stored procedure for the core and any other modules you are running.

And if you ever needed to run an upgrade to a new version - well the same discussion goes double.

Something to think about.
