  I was using DNN 4.8.1  previously to fetch the current portal skin using the SkinController.GetSkin that returns SkinInfo object. Now we decided and successfully migrated to DNN 5.6.1 - But i don't see any more the GetSkin method in the SkinController class. It only has GetSkins that returns SkinPackageInfo.
Is this method deprecated in 5.x version?
If so how can i get the current selected portal skin in the newer version.

I had a quick look and cannot find that method - our policy when we obsolete something is to mark it with the obsolete tag that contains a comment about which new method to use (and usually move it to an "obsoleted methods" region). However I cannot find that method at all which leads me to believe it was removed in error, and that as it wasn't well used it wasn't logged as an error (a search of the issue archive does not show an entry for it - http://supportarchive.dotnetnuke.com/... ). As such it's unlikely to be added back in now many years later, I apologise for the inconvenience but it appears you'll have to change your code to use one of the other skincontroller methods.
