Hi,

Please clarify the following doubts,

1.  Please let me know whether it is possible to develop a site in one machine and deploy it in another machine

2. For the Forums, i should not allow users of particular role to delete/edit the messages posted by others. please let me know  it is possible

P.s i am using 3.03 Version.

Thanks,

Gowtham

  1. Answer: It depends You can migrate a database using typical database procedures, completely independant of DNN, which seems to be the most popular method. This only works on the initial copy, tho (as with most methods). You can also export/import a portal, but that doesn't work for all modules and can cause some issues when linking to portal files/pages.

  2. That is exactly how the Forum Module works. Check out the Forums Module forum for specifics on that module.

You may need to update DNN to take advantage of all the Forum Module has to offer. I'm not 100% sure what version of DNN the latest Forum Module requires. That should be specified in either the doc or the forum. I'd search for it before posting.
