I'm trying to install DNN 3.2.2 on a Win2003 Server / SQL-Server.
I've followed the installation doc (Successfully on 2 tests servers) but this third one (production) doesn't want to work.

Database connection is working  : tested with query manager ... OK
FileSystem permission should be OK : the world has full control over the directories (... will fix later...)

Accessing to http://localhost/dnn/ ... got the following...

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
That's true, i've got no GetPortalAliasByPortalID stored proc. But that's because the installation job didn't created it!
I have 3 new storedProcs in my database (FindDatabaseVersion, GetDatabaseVersion,UpdateDatabaseVersion)... and that's all.

What went wrong? Is there an installation log somewhere ???
thanks...

[edit] after some investigations.... probably a user account probleme.... but I don't know wich settings to use.
anonymous access : IUSR_XXX???   [/edit]

This exact issue is happening to me. However, I do not understand how machine.config has anything to do with it. I believe I have all the configuration right, but only some stored procedures get created and then it returns the infamous error: The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

So what's up with this?  Back when I first was installing 3.0 versions, things were pretty quick, but since 4.0, it seems the security is so complicated I need a network administrator with the latest Window certifications to get anything deployed.  HELP ME PLEASE!!?

Hi All,

Just add the use group "everyone" to the web site's directory and give its' full control permission.

Bad idea Jimmy. That's a huge security boo-boo. However NETWORK SERVICE should have at least Modify permissions on the directory.

Usually when I run into a problem like you guys have it's after I've had a partial install. I've found the only way to fix it is to wipe everything out and start again if it's a clean install. I don't remember ever seeing it on an upgrade.
