Hmmm, hasn't seemed to be a problem for me. I let the GoDaddy APP script run. It installed DNN in a subfolder (called DNN). All I had to do was insert a 301 - permanent redirect into a root index.aspx file to reset the home page to default.dnn\aspx and things seem to be working without much trouble (though I did have to work around some security settings to make this work.

I personally dont understand how this is any more secure than allowing DNN to run in the root. Its not like the application is running in the root of a linux server. Its a subfolder regardless, why does it matter that its a subfolder of the "website" in IIS?

In other words, instead of C:\inetpub\websites\user10000000001\
They want you to run in C:\inetpub\websites\user10000000001\dnn\

How does this enhance server security at all?

I guess one nice side effect is that it seems like you can run multiple instances of DNN in the same account as long as you have more than 1 db to play with.

My biggest issue with the service was that it is dog slow one even a vanilla fresh dnn install. I dont know where all of the 4G speed they claim is being realized, but yikes it was painful when I used it and I moved away in a day.
